Personal Training

At Nerth, we provide custom training plans designed to offer specialised one-on-one support for your health and fitness needs. We understand that every individual has specific goals and requirements, and our personalized approach aims to address those needs effectively.

What does it involve?

Personal Training is a specialized service wherein clients enlist the expertise of a qualified personal trainer to assist them in achieving their health and fitness objectives through individualized guidance. Contrary to common misconceptions, Personal Training is not solely focused on pushing clients to their limits in the weights room. Instead, it offers a client customized approach. At Nerth, our primary goal is to support you in attaining your growth, fitness, and health aspirations through a completely individualized approach. We collaborate closely with you to develop a comprehensive and customized program that incorporates your preferred methods of exercise. This journey begins with an initial consultation, where we gather essential information to ensure a tailored experience.

What happens in my consultation?

During your initial consultation, you will be asked to complete some necessary forms and engage in an informal discussion with our qualified personal trainer. The purpose of this session is twofold: firstly, to ensure that it is safe for you to participate  (in certain cases, individuals with specific health conditions may need to seek medical advice prior to participation); and secondly, to determine your specific goals. The information gathered during this consultation will serve as the foundation for crafting a program tailored exclusively to you, taking into account your objectives, exercise preferences, and other relevant factors. Consultations can be conducted in person, over the phone, or online, offering flexibility to suit your needs. Please note that a £15 fee is associated with the consultation, which will be deducted from the overall cost of your personalized plan should you choose to proceed with our services. You will pay the fee once your requested appointment is approved, so you can go ahead, book a consultation, and we will be in contact.

What does a 'typical' plan look like?

Each individual's plan will be custom; to suit their specific needs, availability, and expectations. Generally, we provide 4, 8 or 12-week programs that encompass the following:

  • A personalized fitness plan tailored to your goals.

  • Weekly one-on-one personal training sessions (4, 8 or 12 sessions).

  • Comprehensive nutritional guidance, advice, and ongoing support.

  • Accessible support from your trainer during business hours.

  • Regular check-ins from your trainer throughout the duration of your plan.

  • A dedicated nutrition and exercise diary (physical or online) for you to track and monitor your progress over the course of the plan.

The program components are designed to offer you a well-rounded and holistic approach to achieving your fitness objectives.

What about standalone fitness plans and online coaching?

If you don't feel you need the full support of a Personal Trainer via one-to-one sessions, we are able to offer 4, 8 or 12 week fitness plans for those who just need a bit of guidance with their workouts, just get in touch and we can discuss your goals.

If you're looking for an online Personal Trainer, we can also make that happen. Our flexible, individualized approach means that we are here to make this work for you, however or wherever that may be.  

Will I need a restrictive diet?

It is crucial to recognize that whether your goal is weight gain or weight loss, finding balance and sustainability in your program is essential. Diets often provide short-term fixes rather than long-term solutions. At Nerth, our approach is focused on teaching realistic lifestyle changes that can be incorporated into your everyday life, allowing you to eat the things that bring you joy. We do not currently have a qualified nutritionist on our team so we can not advise you if you have a dietary condition. However, we will provide you with fundamental knowledge about food and your body, healthy eating tips & advice, and support on how to manage your weight responsibly. 

I don't like the gym environment is this going to be a problem?

Certainly not! While a gym provides access to a variety of tools and equipment that may not be readily available elsewhere, it doesn't mean you can't achieve progress and results in different settings or locations. The crucial factor is consistency. Our goal is to design a program that keeps you engaged, as we believe this is key to the success of the plan.

Outdoor Fitness

I heard you specialise in ante and postnatal training, how does this differ?

The certification for ante and postnatal training is distinct from a general personal training qualification. It requires additional training and specialized knowledge to provide safe and informed exercise guidance during the different stages of pregnancy and postpartum recovery. While the overall program design remains consistent, the execution, advice, and exercises are tailored specifically to support women in their ante and postnatal journeys.
