What is Zumba?

Zumba is a dance fitness class with Latin American roots. Zumba incorporates various dance styles, including salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, and hip-hop, to create a fun and engaging cardio workout.

Who is Zumba for?

Zumba is suitable for all fitness levels and abilities aged 15+ years. You’ll find a complete mixed range of ages, shapes, sizes, genders and cultures when you enter a Zumba class and everyone gets to be exactly who they are. 

How long does it take to learn?

Zumba is not a thing you HAVE to learn. As an instructor I will choregraph moves to the music, the more sessions you attend the more familiar you will become with the routines.

 

However, what is important is that you move your body and enjoy yourself. I encourage you to add your own style to the moves and to take Zumba at a pace that suits your fitness level and experience. There is no expectation for you to dance to every song, and you can drop in and out as you like. There is no judgement at Zumba!

How do I get started?

If you are keen to have fun and join an amazing community you are most of the way there. Light, comfortable clothing is recommended and I always advise in investing in a good pair of trainers if you don't have any. Then the last thing to do is look for a class at a suitable time and location for you. Feel free to contact me for upcoming Zumba events and fundraisers.
